About Us

The Angel Bakery started trading in 2016 directly from our bakery on Lower Castle Street in Abergavenny. We make long-fermented sourdough breads and pastries by hand using flour from British mills.

As well as selling to our local community, we have built up a significant wholesale trade supplying delis, cafes and restaurants both in Monmouthshire and further afield in Cardiff and Bristol. We have become part of an outstanding local food supply network, most of whom also supply directly to restaurants.

We are delighted to announce we have expanded. The brand new Angel Bakery and General Store will open on Wednesday 25th November from 9am at 50-51 Cross Street, just opposite The Angel Hotel.

In the run up to Christmas the store will be open as follows:
Sunday 20th December
Tuesday 22nd December
Wednesday 23rd December
Thursday 24th December (until 1pm) 

We will close from Christmas Day - Monday 28th December 2020

We re-open as follows:
Tuesday 29th December
Wednesday 30th December
Thursday 31st December (until 1pm)

We are closed Friday 1st January 2021 (NYD)

We will re-open as follows:
Saturday 2nd January 

We close for 2 weeks from Monday 4th January 2021

The shop on Lower Castle Street (adjacent to The Angel) will be used for the collection point for online orders, but otherwise everything else will be at 50 Cross Street (across from The Angel).
